The museum itinerary
The project
The project for the installation of CAST was initially conceived by Studio Azzurro, the Milanese artistic research group that for over thirty years has been experimenting with multimedia languages, designing and realizing video environments, sensory experiences, theater performances, films and interactive museums.
Visitor itinerary
CAST is conceived to offer two visitor itineraries, depending on the visitor and the material that most interests him/her.
Before setting out, the visitor must ask himself/herself: Do I feel more like a climber or like an explorer of the environment?
The answer determines the direction to take: begin from the bottom, with an ascending itinerary, or start at the top, from the environmental observatory, and then explore the museum on the way down, ending at the ground floor.
The 3 levels of museum exhibits
The museum itinerary, located in the central part of Castello Masegra, is divided on 3 levels, each of which is dedicated to one of the three As that best represent mountain culture.
A as in ARRAMPICATA (CLIMBING)
The first level located on the ground floor, is dedicated to the ARRAMPICATA (CLIMBING).
A as in ALPINISMO (ALPINISM)
The middle level, on the second floor, is dedicated to the history of ALPINISMO (ALPINISM), and mans irrepressible urge to scale the high mountains.
A as in AMBIENTE (ENVIRONMENT)
The top level, on the third floor, is dedicated to the AMBIENTE NATURALE (NATURAL ENVIRONMENT).
